I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of Florida, majoring in Microbiology and Cell Science, with the goal of pursuing a career in medicine. My background in microbiology has provided me with a strong scientific foundation that I believe will be an asset as I enter the field of medicine. It has shaped the way I approach problem-solving, research, and education, while also reinforcing my commitment to teaching and mentorship.

During my undergraduate studies, I have had the privilege of learning from esteemed professors and collaborating with peers who have challenged and inspired me to grow both as a student and as an individual. Through the University Scholars Program, I will engage with research through a rigorous scientific lens and work closely with mentors to validate novel compounds for castration-resistant prostate cancer therapy.

My cultural background has also played a central role in shaping who I am. My mother is from Manila, Philippines, and my father is from Cebu province. From a young age, I was immersed in rich cultural traditions that fostered a deep appreciation for diversity, community, and resilience. Their encouragement has fueled my drive to be a lifelong learner and to pursue my dreams with determination.

Outside of academics and research, I strive to maintain balance in my life through activities like climbing, swimming, and crocheting. I am excited to continue building on my research experiences as I prepare for the future.
